Space Wolves

The Space Wolves are a Space Marine Chapter of the First Founding, descended from the Primarch Leman Russ. Their fortress, the Fang, stands on the ice world of Fenris, whose warrior tribes supply the Chapter's recruits. In place of the Codex Astartes the Chapter divides into twelve Great Companies, each under a Wolf Lord answerable only to the Great Wolf. Every recruit absorbs the Canis gene helix, which carries the curse of the Wulfen. Warriors fight in packs graded by age, from the young Blood Claws through the proven Grey Hunters to the older Long Fangs with their heavy weapons.
