Ultramarines

The Ultramarines are a Space Marine Chapter of the First Founding, raised under the Primarch Roboute Guilliman, who wrote the Codex Astartes; no Chapter follows its precepts more closely, and the Ultramarines are commonly taken as the model of Codex organisation. From their fortress on Macragge they rule Ultramar, a realm of worlds that supports the Chapter directly in place of Imperial tithes. In the First Tyrannic War the First Company was destroyed holding Macragge's polar fortresses against Hive Fleet Behemoth; the Chapter retook the fortresses and cleared the planet. The present Master is Marneus Calgar, Lord of Ultramar.
